Hello, my mother's maiden name is Oliver and she wanted me to try to find information about her grandfather, but I keep running into walls. His name is Gordon Oliver and he was born in 1854.

Do you live in Madison County? I have spent years trying to find the maiden name of my GGGrandmother. I found this weekend in Bedford County, VA. Courthouse that she was from Madison County. Her first name was either Jeanette, or Jenetta. She married John K. Oliver and both are burried at Big Island, Bedford County, Va., where they lived and raised a family. Her death record says that she was 35 years old when she died on July 27, 1853. This would make her born in 1818, but I have 1819 in my records. Also have 1827. This could not be correct, if her death record is. Don't remember if that came from the cemetery or not. The death record shows no maiden name. And, I have not been able to locate a marriage record yet. Where in Madison County are records located? I am not too far from there. I live in

I was just "Surfing the Net" to see if there was anything to do with genealogy - Oliver. I came across your page - I wonder if we are related from many years ago! I know many of my ancestors came from Kent, I think around Swanley, Wilmington and they were all Blacksmiths. I would like to trace my family tree but I don't know where to begin. Claire Oliver

Hi, Brett, --you have a great site. Would you have any leads on Oliver genealogies tracing back to the Olivers in the Balearic Islands (Mallorca and Minorca) in Spain, and emigrating to Puerto Rico and Cuba in the late XIX century? I suspect that the Spanish Olivers are really English or Scottish in origin (Balearics were an English possession for a long while) Thanks!

I am the second eldest son of Ruby Edna Wilson nee Waldron. My mother passed away in June 2000 and I have recently come across some information on our side of the Family. It is interesting that you have a photo of Charlottee Faithorn, as this would be my Gt. Granmother. My Grandmothers name was Charlotee Faithorn Burnell. I also have many photos of people who I/We are unable to identify. Perhaps I could scan them and email copies? My mother often talked of the Nias family and we have a small painting from JM Nias. Ian Wright wrote Mom on many occassions in 1996 and 1997 re: the Family Tree. Does Ian have email? How may I contact him? Thanks for your assistance. Regards, Donald

Hi there, Just stumbled accross your WEB whilst browing the net at lunch. It seems we share some Herts Ancestry. Joseph Cutmore of Great Amwell Herts was my 3x Gt Grandfather. His son James (1811) was quite active in producing off-spring from his 3 marriages. I come from his second - but am only 3 years older than you. Have added your page to my favourites - if you want any data going backward from Joseph, let me know ? However, I am not on net at home & only have paper tree records ! Regards, Rod

I am from Canada and moved to Texas. My great grandfather is listed on his Canadian military paperwork as being from London England, Born May 1st 1886 and prior to enlisting in the Canadian 8th Overseas Infantry Battallion he served in the Royal Navy.
