Painting By John Martin Nias 1830-1903 Written on the reverse of this painting in Black Ink is the word "Blackpoole" and another indistinguishable word. Could this be Blackrock in Brighton? Thanks to Donald Wilson for sending me a copy of this painting and allowing me to publish it on my web site.
It is belived this painting was sent by John Martin Nias to his daughter Charlotte Faithorn Nias and was passed down through the family to her daughter Charlotte Faithorn (Burnell) Waldron and then to her daughter Ruby Edna Waldron. The painting is now in the care of Ruby's son Donald Wilson |
