Our Training

Introduction

The club embarks on a training regime to the highest standards, culiminating in children taking part in races to suit their abilities. The costs of training are highlighted below under the relevant sections. The trainers come from a long background of ski racing in Scotland and all have BASI, APC or other qualifications (recognised internationally).

Artifical Slope Training - Alford

Dry slope training is held on Sunday mornings from 9-12, starting on October 2005 at the Alford Dry Mat. Last week of training is Sunday 18th December 2005.The children participating in training should be 6 years and over.

Cost of Training: £12 per week

 

Snow Training at the Lecht

Snow training begins when the snow arrives, usually January time and takes place on Sundays. This year, weather permitting should see snow training start on 8th January 2006. There are club race weekends organised over the season for all race groups. The Race Convenor, (Dave Tilley), will have all the details of forthcoming events. Cost of Training for Bairns, Children: £16 per week payable monthly for January, February, March - cheques payable to Gordon Skiers to be post dated and handed to Anne Lyon.

Gordon Skiers are delighted to announce Chris Park as a new coach to the club. A new programme of Juniors training will be undertaken by Chris Park from January 2006 or when snow conditions permit. The cost of Juniors training as part of the Chris Park training at the Lecht will be £20 per day. This is to cover the additional costs in running the Junior programme. All Juniors, training with Chris Park, will require to be members of Gordon Skiers club (see Join the Club on left side of website).
