The Chertsey 3.5inch gauge railway
This is a web-site about my miniature railway. As I am 14 years old it isn’t very impressive but at least it gives me something to drive locos on!
A pic of the loco I am building(this one isn’t mine!)
The track
The track was built from old redundant rail from the 7.25 inch gauge Great Cockcrow Railway. It is way over scale for 3.5 inch gauge but is good as nothing falls off easily! The rails are on timber sleepers which are soaked in creosote. This helps slow down decay of sleepers. The track is not permanent as it is laid in my very small garden on the lawn. I can also do fairs with it.
Rolling stock
This is limited to a single coach which is on two GLR model supplies bogies.

The loco
The loco is a robroy 060 designed by martin evans. I bought her from a chap in yorkshire and am trying to finish her. She is based on a Caledonian dock tank and I will be painting her in BR black livery.

I am afraid she isn’t finished at the moment but when she is she will look like this.
The owner

My name is Matthew Scrutton. I love railways and am a shunt driver at the GCR(see above). I decided to build a miniature railway this year and at the time of writing am still building the track! I am still a teenager and am strapped for cash but get by some how! Here is a couple of pics of me driving steam locos at the GCR.
