I'm Bryan Hoggarth (GLS, UK) and this site is mainly for HOGGARTHs in general and also my own family.

The HOGGARTH branches around NRY (North Riding of Yorkshire).

Wills and some other old documents with some full transcriptions and if not a note of the names mentioned.  Not just my family but also quite a few others I have picked up on the off chance that they may mention my family.  They are mostly from the Esk valley in the North York Moors or Dauntsey in Wiltshire areas.  Last update: Nov 2011 - replaced absract with full transcript for the 1803 Will of Thomas KNAGGS, Master Mariner of Whitby.

Y-DNA.  This link takes you to Ysearch where you can find my record, Code is 775CM if there is more than one HOGGARTH on there. The searching facility is rubbish - just use the "Alphabetical List of Last Names" tab.
Rod H of Bournemouth had his done and it shows that the Egton and Ugthorpe branches have a "Common Male Ancestor" (CMA) - so we are cousins.  Rod & I differ by 1 on one marker which is very likely over 43 markers when we know that any CMA is the other side of our G4 Gdads.  The Langdale Branch have two markers different which is more interesting as it means our CMA with them is probably another half dozen or so more generations back.  So we have probably been around the North York Moors since Tudor times at least.

Who was Who in 1841.  I'm working on a page where we list "everyone" called HOGGARTHish in the North Riding of Yorkshire and figure out what family Branch they belong to.

  HOG* Records.

People.  This is mostly related to my family.

Places.  This is mostly related to my family.

The ALLIN family of Dauntsey in Wiltshire and Great Fryup in Glaisdale/Danby, NRY.

I mostly concentrate on HOG*s in North Yorkshire.  For a wider perspective have a look around Rod Hogarth's site, Hogarth Family HQ, where there is a Noticeboard  for gossip and requests for help and lots more information on HOG*s.
