Will of Simon ALLIN, 1670

Notes:

The transcript below was made by me Bryan Hoggarth (latest version 15th  July 1999) from a photocopy which I obtained from the Wiltshire and Swindon Record Office.  I believe this Simon ALLIN, deceased, is probably the one who was baptised in 1603 in Danby, son of Davers ALLIN. Since I know little Latin my transcription of those words are even more prone to errors than the rest of it. 

“plor” may mean “parlor”

The condition is that if the above bounden Anne Reeve widow

~ ~ doe well & truly administer all & singular the goods chattles

& creditts of Simon Allin her father late of Dauntsey abovesaid

~ ~ intestate deceased, that is to say, doe pay all the debts

which the said deceased did owe at the time of his life & death soe

farr forth as his goods chattles & creditts will thereunto extend

& the Law shall charge her in that behalfe & alsoe doe justify

the Inventory now by her exhibited to be true # # #

 

& further doe passe a true & pfect accompt of & upon her said

Admon. when she shalbe thereunto lawfully called, & such  goods

chattles & creditts as shall remaine unadministred upon ~

the foot of her said accompt doe dispose in such manner as

by the above named Mr. Archdeacon, his Surrogate ~ or any

other competent Judge in that behalfe shalbe allotted & set

downe.  Then this obligacon to be voyd otherwise to remaine ~

in force:/
