Hannah was the sister of Mary STEPHENSON the first wife of Allin HOGGARTH. Born about 1849 in Whitby according to the 1881 census Hannah was age 12 in Dunsley village in 1861 and said to be born in Dunsley. This would not be the Heulah Farm which Allin HOGGARTH and Mary later had just outside Dunsley. In 1861 living with the STEPHENSONs was a widow, Jane GARBUTT, who was born in Birkhead which is where the STEPHENSONs had lived for some generations.
In 1881 Hannah was at Claphow farm (north of Lingdale on the Skelton road according to modern map). The head of the house was 76 years old Mathew YOUNG and Hannah was married to his son Robert (age 44). No children were shown. There was a farm servant called John HOGERTH, age 17 from Upleatham - maybe a relative.
In 1891 Hannah was at Lingdale as Hannah YOUNG and on the same folio is Stephenson HOGGARTH, age 6, her nephew. Also on the same folio is Joseph HOGGARTH age 18 from Upleatham and George HOGGARTH age 20 from Upleatham. I don't know who they are.
