As we have full manufacturing capabilities to produce Watch components, we are also able to offer a Micro Engineering service to any Company requiring small batches of very small precision machined components. We can also undertake machining modifications or additions, to a Company`s semi-produced products.

Our maximum working bar diameter is 8mm, minimum diameter is 0.004mm, tolerances on machined outside surfaces can be + - 0.002mm, we can machine or drill any number of divisions or index at any angle with an accuracy to the outside diameter or dimension to + - 0.005. We have standard drills from 0.10mm diameter increasing in steps of 0.02mm, (steps of 0.01 are possible, and any special size, minimum 0.05mm, can be manufactured but lead time is required). Standard end mills of 0.50mm are stocked and special end mill engraving cutters can be manufactured if required.

We can machine/work on larger diameters, max 140mm diameter, to the same above mentioned tolerances, but a support and holding jig will be required, and this will need to be machined in situ for the machine to achieve accuracy.

Finishing can be to horological standards if requested, with very highly polished straight and square/flat surfaces. We also have diamond lapping capabilities and can lap, cut, drill and polish any hardness of materials. (hardened metals, glass products, synthetic and precious stones).

All costs for each, or batch of components are on a time taken basis, and therefore relates to the amount of time taken in JIG making, and machine set up time required. Normally there is a minimum charge equivalent to One day cost, at present October 2002, this is approximately £190.00.

Micro Engineering. Example :- Less than 1mm in diameter, O.45mm thick, recessed by 0.140mm and has a 0.19mm diameter centre hole and a 0.20mm hole at 45 degree angle.
