| Another
poor Disney transfer, this one following the increasing
trend from the company for non-anamorphic prints. Even
allowing for that, things are none to good here, with a
good deal of artefacts on show and blacks that ain't so
black. The Dolby Surround mix is subtle to say the least - the surrounds barely have anything to do. Not necessarily a bad thing in this kind of film but, with no extras, it makes for a dull disc. Strictly for fans of the film only. |
Episodic tale of two generations of two dysfunctional liberal Canadian families. Well acted and often painfully truthfully observed, the film fails as a whole - it's a bit like watching a video of a road accident. Devoid of actual plot and eventually weighed down by redundant incident and tragedy, the ice-laden imagery results just adds to the frosty reception. | ||
