The bird is best viewed from the Herts bank of the Stort. Park close to the river in a muddy lay-by/parking area off Sheering Mill Lane, or if this is full then Bell Street Car park is about haf a mile away in the town Walk down the footpath from the bridge near the lock by the Lock-keepers cottage, and walk for about half a mile until opposite a flooded field, and view from the bank across the river. The gull is normally with a flock of 28 BHG's. The scrape is on farmer's land so please do not try and access the site directly.
