NOTES FOR WALKERS
Walking Speed   Most of our Tuesday walks are at a moderately brisk speed of about 2.6 to 2.8 mph with an ascent of 350 to 450 feet. Weekend walks are usually slower and more relaxed. Walks that are outside the above parameters are highlighted in the programme. If you are in any doubt about your ability to cope with the above conditions please consult the Walks Leader.

Meet at St Peter's Chapel car park at the end of East End Road, Bradwell-on-Sea, for a circular walk past a Saxon chapel, a nuclear power station, the local marina and a World War II RAF memorial, with a pub lunch stop just before the end. An optional meander down the start (or end!!) of St Peter's Way after lunch for those who wish for a few more miles..Alternatively meet at Victoria Road car park, Rayleigh (GR TQ813914) at 9am for a car share. TQ817977 Countryside Walk from South Woodham Ferrers. Meet at Saltcoats Sports Ground car park, South Woodham Ferrers (In Ferrers Road off the last roundabout on the B1012 to Burnham, leaving South Woodham Ferrers) for a circular walk. This open country walk goes east along the sea-wall, up Little Hayes Chase, over a disused railway line (to Maldon) and Three Rivers golf course to Stow Maries. The return will be north to Flambirds Farm and back via Bushy Hill. Hilly in parts. Lunch stop at the The Prince of Wales , Stow Maries, or bring a packed lunch. Mike 01702
