Cragganmore Distillery Visit
On 17th. July, sixteen of our members set off on a joint outing to visit Cragganmore Distillery and Ballindalloch Castle, both in Banffshire.
As the Distillery could only take a party of ten we split into two groups, one group going to the Castle while the other went to Cragganmore.
We met up for an excellent lunch at 12.30 at The Delnashaugh Hotel nearby.
In the afternoon, we changed over enabling everyone to have visited the Castle and the Distillery by the end of the day.
We were not blessed with good weather, as it rained heavily most of the day which precluded a walk round the beautifully laid out and very well maintained garden features at the Castle. The rain did not really bother us on the tour round the Distillery and we certainly didn't let it "dampen our spirits" in any way.
The very able guide conducted both parties round the Distillery for the day and was happy to answer our many questions on the Distillation process.
At the end of the tour, we were given a chance to sample a dram or two of the produce - a fitting climax to a very enjoyable day.
