Season Summary:

This was the most disatrous season in Forest's history!

Legendary Reds' former manager Brian Clough died in September, twenty-five years after leading Forest to European glory. Tributes to Clough were left around the City Ground prior to the West Ham match.

The Season was to end with the Reds making history by becoming the first team to have won the European Cup to be subsequently relegated to the third tier of their national league. Forest were relegated without making a real fight of it until it was too late to matter.

Manager, Joe Kinnear left the club in December following a disastrous three:nil loss at Derby!

Caretaker manager, Mick Harford was released by the club in January after a three:nil FA Cup win at QPR. The new manager and former reds' player, Gary Megson was brought in to try to save Forest from relegation. Unfortunately, despite wholesale changes to the playing staff, he was unable to stop the inevitable. His task was not made any easier by the departures of Andy Reid and Michael Dawson to Spurs for a combined fee of £8Million.

The one high spot of the season came in the FA Cup with Forest managing to earn a replay against Spurs at White Hart Lane. Sadly the Reds were well beaten in the replay.

After being relegated at QPR, the Reds finished the season in 23rd position in the Championship (P46,W9,D17,L20,F42,A66,GD-24,Pts44).
So Forest will play in League One next season. This will be the first time that the Reds have played at this level since the 1950's!

In response to relegation, boss, Gary Megson placed several players on the transfer list. These included David Johnson, Marlon King, Alan Rogers and Andy Impey.

Unfortunately bugcafe were unable to bring photo-reports of games during this season but will be back again throughout the 2005/06 Season as Forest try to gain promotion back to the Championship.
