10 Corn Mill
John Clapham bought the old mill in 1902 and set up in business supplying local farmers with animal feed made from home-grown and imported grain. Flour was also milled and sold to local grocers' shops. The small building behind the wall was a drying kiln for the corn.
The photograph was taken in 1920. John's sons are shown, Harold standing by the wall while his brother sits proudly in his first car, a Hillman two-seater bought in 1919. Behind the car are the stables with the flat cart used for delivering orders.
