The Greensand Railway Museum Trust

Welcome to the official website of the Leighton Buzzard Railway--one of Britain’s leading narrow-gauge heritage railways, an accredited working museum, and a popular family visitor attraction.

If you are one of the millions of people who live within an hour’s travel of us, and are feeling the pinch from fuel prices, come and discover your l
ocal attractions this year! Family tickets make us even better value for tight budgets.

We are open on every Sunday and Bank Holiday weekend until the end of October, with Wednesday operation starting during half-term, on
28th May. Visit our Timetables page for full details of dates and times.

On Sunday
18th May, steam engine “Rishra” will be working “real” freight trains, helping with the rebuild of the Page’s Park station platforms.

On Bank Holiday Monday,
26th May, accompanied children will travel free of charge, if they bring their own bears to take part in our Teddy Bears’ Holiday. Great value for families, once again!

And on Sunday
1st June, as part of Volunteers’ Week, you will have the chance to drive one of our historic diesel locomotives--under close supervision, of course!

The new dual-carriageway from Milton Keynes to Leighton Buzzard has brought some changes to familiar routes and road numbers in our area. The road layout from the town centre has also changed.
Maps and satnavs may therefore be out of date, so check our How To Find Us page for assistance.

One of our big challenges for 2008 will be the planning application to develop what is currently Green Belt land, and the last remaining stretch of open countryside on the line. Find out more on our Latest News page--and please let us know what
you think!

You will find lots of information about us by clicking the navigation bar on the left, and exploring the website. If you prefer good old-fashioned paper,
email us to request any of our leaflets, remembering to give us your full postal address. If you have broadband, we can send you leaflets as PDF files, on request.

We are a non-profit organisation, run and managed by volunteers. We have many openings for anyone who wants to put a skill to good use, or maybe even learn some new ones. Come and talk to us on 1st June!

Large-print copies of any page of this website will be supplied on request.
