Railway sites
Ashover Light Railway Society: Like our own line, the Ashover was built from 2ft (610mm) gauge war-surplus materials and equipment, but sadly closed in 1950. Now there is a scheme to revive the most picturesque section in rural Derbyshire.
Association of 16mm Narrow Gauge Modellers: The website for the Bedfordshire Area Group, who are regular exhibitors at our model railway events.
Buckinghamshire Railway Centre: Our nearest heritage-railway neighbour, with an interesting standard-gauge collection and an extensive miniature line.
Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway: Another standard-gauge heritage railway within easy reach, reviving a Great Western branch line on the edge of the Chiltern Hills.

Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Society: The British-based group for those who follow the fortunes of this fantastic 2ft (610mm) gauge railway in the foothills of the Himalayas.

Froissy-Cappy-Dompierre: Our French twin railway. Within easy reach of the Channel ports, and the last survivor of the 600mm gauge lines of the World War 1 battlefields--so sharing some history with the Leighton Buzzard Railway. Has an English translation.

Golden Valley Light Railway: The 2ft (610mm) gauge railway at the standard-gauge Midland Railway Centre, Derbyshire.

Greensand Railway Museum Trust: Our associated charity, responsible for restoring WDLR778, the World War One 4-6-0T by Baldwin, and soon to embark on an exciting new project.
Kemence Forestry Museum Railway: A new, all-volunteer venture in Hungary, to build and operate a 600mm gauge railway. Website partly in English.
London Midland: The main franchise operator of the passenger services through Leighton Buzzard’s main-line station.
Lynton & Barnstaple Railway: The “other” LBR is one of England’s lost railway treasures, a 600mm gauge line which ran through glorious North Devon scenery, but closed in the 1930s. Read all about the reopening of the first short stretch, and their big plans for the future.

Industrial
Narrow Gauge Railways: Specialist website set up by individual enthusiasts, with useful information and links.

National Railway Museum: All about the British national railway historical collection, based at York, from which we have items on loan.

Talyllyn Railway: This is the line that started the railway preservation movement, back in 1951. Still going strong.

The Leighton Buzzard Railway offers these links in good faith, but accepts no liability for their operation or content.
