Bring a party
For larger parties, coaches can be parked free of charge at Page’s Park station, by prior arrangement. We also offer hospitality to the driver.
If you have a special event or outing to organise, make it memorable with a party booking on the Leighton Buzzard Railway.
Any group of 10 or more fare-paying passengers, booking in advance and travelling together on a scheduled train, gets a 20% discount off all fares, plus reserved seats. Coach drivers receive free travel on the train, and a refreshment voucher.
We can tailor our service to your requirements, including food and drink in our Italian-style buffet, if required. Birthday Parties
For a really memorable treat, come and have a birthday party on the move at the Leighton Buzzard Railway!
The birthday boy or girl travels free, and gets a Leighton Buzzard Railway birthday card, as well as a personalised headboard on the front of the locomotive, and a visit to the Driver in the cab.
All children receive a goody bag of presents, and the Sandhill Junction buffet can be booked to provide your party refreshments. Please note different Child fares apply to Birthday Partiess--ask for our special leaflet.
Schools Specials
Enjoy an educational outing, which can be used to support work towards Key Stages 1 and 2, or as part of the Learning Outside The Classroom initiative. Alternatively, it can just be a fun treat at the end of a hard school term!
A teacher resource pack is available in advance, including curriculum-related notes, a generic risk assessment and a DVD. Prior familiarisation visits by teachers are encouraged. For our line’s 90th anniversary this year, there are new displays and artefacts available, to stimulate a wide variety of topics based on daily life in 1919, and the aftermath of war.
We run a special timetable on Wednesdays in June and July, to fit in with the school day and can operate specially on other days by arrangement. School parties must be booked in advance.
Sunset Specials
Something completely different for those long, hot summer evenings--a steam train operated specially for your party, taking you out into the Bedfordshire countryside, with a meal in the Sandhill Junction buffet, at Page’s Park station. Options include a shed visit, or a talk about the history of the railway.
This is an ideal evening event for clubs, societies and other groups looking for a summer outing with a difference--and it’s an excellent budget corporate hospitality idea! Departure time is 7.30pm.
Sunset Specials are available in June, July and August only.
Hire Your Own Train
If none of these meets your requirements, then hire a complete train, to run when you want! From a simple return trip along the line, to a day-long photography shoot, we are happy to discuss your requirements.
