5.1 Explore software production introduces the student to the software development life cycle including testing, stages of program development and program development documents documents.  The student will have the opportunity to explore the features of several procedural programming languages and then to describe features of one procedural programming language in detail.

5.2 Design a program from a given specification focuses onthe design of a program in a procedural programming language in detail.

5.3 Produce a program from a given program design is concerned with the production of the program designed in element 5.2.  Students will have the opportunity to test their program and to produce user instructions for the program.
