Outcome 7 Understand the differences in quality and speed of different printing devices.

Tasks

A computer supplier has been receiving enquiries for the supply of printers from a number of customers and is considering stocking them. You are to collect and present information to help the manager make a decision. You should outline the types of printer technology available.

The shop will be selling one cheap model of printer, at under £150, for home users and one in the range of £150 - £450 for a small business or more serious individual user. (Prices exclude VAT)

You should identify and report on the range of printer technologies . Explain the strengths and weaknesses of each type.
You should identify by name one actual model in each price range, and explain your choice of printing technology.
For each model, identify three aspects which led you to choose it rather than other models of the same type/technology, and give a typical "Street" price, with its source.
For each of the two printers, identify at least two additional items which your shop might wish to sell in connection with that printer (other than paper and cables)
