STUDENT WEB PAGES (Sudents are currently
setting up pages using the free web sites offered around the Web. Tripod
now allows around 11-12Mbytes of web space and PCUser magazine allows up
to 50Mbytes. (free Web Space)
Tripod
now insists that you update your web page every month otherwise they will
assume that the page is dead and remove it. They assure us that only
minor changes are required such as adding a new link.
Don't forget to provide a link from your page to this
site and to e-mail me (locol_advit@hotmail.com) with the address
of your page so that links can be set up. (URLhttp://www.btinternet.com/~c.j.duley/)

Some of these links may now be obselete and if the
sites have fallen into disuse may have been deleted by the website managers.
David
BloodDavid's page is still under construction, but he hopes
to eventually cover a range of his sporting activities including
rock climbing and other extreme sports. The site also includes e-mail
link, a counter and a guestbook, all good communication facilities. Interesting
links to rock-climbing sites, and impressive photos. Well done David
now develop a course page and put links to this web site.
Sukhjinder
Sall The first goup page has been set up by Sukhy,
Phil,
Amar
and
Sarju.
Although each page can be accessed from the group's home page direct access
can be made to each individuals page. Sukhy and co have chosen to use tripod
for their web site. They also have set up a mirror site on the A2
college server.
-
Sukhy
has produced an impressively designed page with interesting links to an
official Highland site, web crawler and other search engines.
-
Sarju'spage
will be designed to show photographs of some of his favourite football
team (Liverpool?). some people have a strange taste, but there we
go.
-
Amar
impressively designed page but again strange taste in football (Liverpool?)
hope it's not contagious.
-
Philip
has provided interesting links to an original topic area (The Artic Circle)
Simon
Cuff although Simon was second in informing me about his web
page he had hidden it a little by using a directory structure making it
difficult link. His page is well worth a visit if you are interested
in such things as World War II aircraft and he has included a number of
photographs of his favourites in flight. Lots of interesting topics although
some of the links do not work correctly. Simon has also chosen
to use tripod, seems to be the favourite free web space site so far.
Robert
Carris the first to break the mold. He has chosen to use
http://freespace.virgin.net/ as the location for his web space. This site
could perhaps offer 10mb of web space as against 2mb on other sites.
It is also perhaps only available to users of Virgin Net. You should
compare the facilities amongst yourselves.
Timothy
Goodacre is following the trend set by Robert, Tim has chosen
to use freespace at Virgin Net. Tim's site contains a guestbook,
FTP search engine, offers to build you a computer (at a cost of course)
and links to music and musical instrument sites. Tim also has a
mirror site on the college A2
server
Ben
Wootton has chosen Geocities for his page. Well
done Ben. Interesting links to useful sites. Good site well worth
a visit. How about adding a little more about your interests??
John
BoothJohn has placed his page on Loughborough College A2 server.
He is interested in radio and has provided a number of very interesting
technical links. Anyone interested in Linux and radio would find
some very useful links here.
Stuart GibsonHaven't
viewed content yet
Ian
Jarvis Hasn't given a preview of his page so you will need to
visit to see what it's all about
Nainahas
produced a page telling us about herself and some interesting insight into
her home life in Dar es Salaam.
Peter
Dawsonhaven't viewed yet
Chris
WrightThis site has interesting links for all football fans,
particularly Leicester City.
Marc
Copestakehas set up a home page on the A2 server
Group
sitefor SIMON MULDOON, PETER TAYLOR, SIMON BOYFIELD. Links

for you Peter.
Martin

It
is very close to the end of term. You will need to ensure that your
work is up to date and that your final Networks assignment has been handed
in for marking. You should ensure that your work is in by friday
the 12th. You also need to ensure that it does not require any further
work. Your tutors will be very busy on administrative duties and will only
be able to provide guidance from then until July. You only have two
weeks left to complete all of your first years work.
