FAWLTY TOWERS FLOOR PLANS

We have Kirk Stacey to thank for these two excellent floor plans of Fawlty Towers. Whilst a certain degree of artistic licence has to be used, as we seldom see all of a room, they do nicely capture the essence of Fawlty Towers.

THE GROUND FLOOR

Anyone who has watched the episodes several times will be familiar with the room layout, and the fact that it seems to change every episode, especially upstairs. In fact one would probably need twelve different floor plans for the upstairs to represent every combination.

THE UPPER FLOOR

Sometimes the changes were deliberate (as in "The Builders"), but more often than not they have more to do with camera angles and studio space than anything else.

Of course there may well have been building work carried out between episodes that we never saw until it was completed, and judging by the look of the place (the way some of the walls wobble), it might have been carried out by Mr O'Reilly rather than Mr Stubbs.
