I went on a camel trek in the Negev Desert
in Israel in 1996, The picture on the
left shows my camel Ayelihd.Its a female
camel and has a gentle disposition, she
carried me across the desert without a
murmer of complaint.(contrasted with the
male camels which are fiesty and bad
tempered,the Bedouin guide told me that
he'd seen a male camel kill someone.)
A Bedouin tribesman will not ride a
female camel, but must have a male camel.
If you go camel trekking get a female one.
