we are chip childers' family. visited chip in japan in dec '96, the cold winter before you all visited in the beautiful spring. heard a lot about chip's close friend, matt, and even got to meet ko. the three of them must have been hilarious together! your pix brought back memories of a beautiful country (even in december) and even more beautiful, wonderful people. our favorite pix was "the cat in the hat" (naturally). we hope chip gets to see matt in england on his way home in early '99. thanks for sharing your trip, the childers--scoot, dottie, richard, scott

Where do you get the authority to use the title "Reverend"? I find no Bible authority for such a title. Where do you derive the name "Baptist" church. I find no "Baptist" church in the Bible.

Hello my name is Walter Nicholls. My grandfather was Louis Aldons Nicholls Hill. He was born in Dominic Island on frebuary 15th, 1915. He emigrated to the United States of America and erolled in the US Army to fight in World War II in Panamá. Then, when the war finished, he went to South America - Venezuela and got married to Andrea González--Venezuelan Citizen. They had five children; one of them is my father--Jacobo Nicholls Now I'm here in the USA, studying at Brevard Community College. I just wondered because of the similarity of our last name Nicholls. I couldn't or I had not the chance to talk to my grandpa about my background or my geneological tree, so I don't know a lot about my relatives. That's why I write to you for me to know if you have eny information about. Thanks to you.

I was the Yuza-Machi AET 1991-92. Was Matthew living in the old house behind Obiya? I went back for new Year 2000. The AET now lives in a house near the school. I taught at the old Yuza Junior High, Fujisaki, Sugasato and Yawata Junior High Schools. I'd like to keep in touch - I don't know many (UK) people who've discovered Yuza! I'm still in contact with the friends I made there - mainly Hideo at the town office, Dr Kazuhiro Doi (Yawata hospital) & Dr Koichi Otaki (Yuza dentist) & their families. They relay my news to friends who don't read/write English very well - I can't read/write Japanese much. You photos made me feel homesick! I have over 1000 photos over my year in Yuza, including many of MT Chokai and other places you visited. I'm planning to go back in 2002 for an exhibition of my patchwork

I'm searching for a personal friend - Rev. Drew Kelso who went to a church in Coventry earlier this year. He was Pastor at a Baptist church in Australia prior to his move to Coventry so I assume that he is with a Baptist Church there. I've been hoping that he would send me his address but so far this has not happened. I've just received a Christmas card from him but still no address. Can you help me? I can only find one other Baptist Church at Coventry on the internet but no contact details. You will be aware of other churches and hopefully who the Pastors are. Thank you in anticipation.

Interesting web site. Have never been to Japan, but looks interesting and beautiful. Reading your guest book entries, was keen to see the various entries from people with Nicholls surname from parts of the world. My great grandparents originated from Scotland, so presume there would be some contection. With all those requests you would have a good background on the Nicholls tree by now?
