Shinkansen
The fastest and most comfortable way to travel by rail in Japan, is the Shinkansen, known world wide as 'The Bullet Train.'
This picture, taken at Kyoto, shows the arrival of the "Hikari", a 150mph express from Tokyo.
For short stay visitors to Japan, a Japan Rail pass is available, and this gives unlimited Japan Rail travel throughout the country.
