Since 1962 we have been in the forefront of
research into weapons and their use from the Romans to the 17thC.
We have among our members, experts in the construction and making of all
types of Arms and Armour, including Saddlery and all types of horse furniture.
We can supply authentic music of most periods and our costume wardrobe is
extensive.
Period
Action UK’s core is firmly based on archery in its many forms and has former
Long-bow champions among its members, we even demonstrate horse archery.
In recent years we have added to our repertoire the ancient gun which has
become a favourite. We believe we
were also the first to joust in full plate Armour,
over the years a number of our members have gone on to teach many of the
medieval pursuits in the acting profession and films.
What we can do for you
With
over 40 years experience we are able to tailor an event to suit your venue and
needs, from a full tournament
complete with the pavilions, trappings, horses and all the many events that make
up the full medieval experience to lower key small events which are produced to
fit a more intimate location.
What you can expect
We can visit
your location and advise you as to the best way of using your venue,
and if you are planning a themed event we can advise on publicity, and we
go through all the safety requirements.
Films and the Stage
If you have a need for fight action in your
production we can supply the action you need. We have a number of people we can
call on and because of our long experience we can provide the exact experts,
along with the weapons and costume you may need. This also means that we can
provide fight experts to teach your own people the best fight techniques for a
safe production.

In recent years we have made weapons and props
for many T.V. and film productions. Our database of suppliers means that you
need look no further to find all the advice and help that you require.
