Occupations

As Leona Medlin: I fit in a bit of writing – that's how it mostly feels – and, with Richard, Price edit Vennel Press.

As Leona Carpenter:
Carpenter is my married name, and my husband Richard and I share interests in music, drama, cities, walking, natural history and history proper – all of which turn up in my poems, as does my husband. Carpenter is also the name I use for nonliterary professional purposes (including publishing*) as a librarian and systems analyst. 1999-2000 sees me taking a year out of full-time employment to return to study and work on hypertextPoetryWorkshopproject.

*For example: Towards the Digital Library, edited by Leona Carpenter, Andrew Prescott, and Simon Shaw (London: British Library, 1997).
