At school and university: Involved in theatre, mainly performing; at university also belonged to a group, 'Out Loud', that gave public readings of mainly 'classic' poems.
1992-1997: Founder-member of SCAN, Reading-based workshop group, which gave public readings of members' own work, and tried to develop ways of presenting poetry interestingly 'on stage'. From this developed an interest in recorded radiophonic work; though I am still interested in live performance.
