The Chilterns Dog Rescue Society was formed in 1963 to rescue unwanted and homeless dogs and to provide accommodation until such time as permanent homes can be found.   Since the Society was formed over 16,000 dogs have been successfully homed and we currently re-home approximately 400 dogs a year.

We always try to help a dog, whatever its size, age, temperament or background and Chilterns Dog Rescue Society prides itself in that no dog is ever needlessly destroyed.

We put a lot of effort into putting the right dog into the right home, as well as providing training support where needed and this is reflected in what the public say about us.

"What a fantastic job your team do!  I was impressed at the number of dogs you manage to re-home from a single relatively small kennels - particularly knowing the care you take to match the right dog to each home."

"Having helped out with dog-walking for a few months now, I must say how impressed I am by the dedication of the staff and volunteers at the Rescue Centre.  The efforts made to walk and train dogs are exceptional.  I have seen such transformations in some of the dogs."
