The Raven Knights are an order dedicated to Mörr the God of Death and take their name from the bird, which is so common with the Cult's religious devices. It is also known formally as the High and Chivalric Order of Deserved Rest and sometimes as the Black Guard, although few outside the cult understand its titles. The Order is not only comprised of Knights but also priests skilled at arms as well as magic (called Raven Priests) and alchemists and herbalists skilled at the application of pure metals as an effective weapon against Undead and of the manufacture of graveroot respectively. As devout followers of Mörr, the Raven Knights is a martial order dedicated to the destruction of Necromancers and Undead creatures wherever they are to be found. Despite this modus operandi this branch of the cult of Mörr is hardly known by the bulk of the populous whose only contact with the Cult tends to come via the Mourner's Guild (the institution which deals with funerals.) It comes as no surprise that the templars of the Raven Knights are very few in number, akin to the smaller Knightly Orders of the World, and are seldom seen.
