I spent the first 22 years of my life at school and University in Manchester.
After graduating, I moved down to live in Farnborough, Hampshire before
living and working in Exeter and Ipswich. Since '84 I've lived in and around
London, in Twickenham, Chiswick, Crouch End, Wimbledon and finally Harlesden,
which is a real dump.

Despite having ambitions to be either a rocket-scientist or a parapsychologist,
I ended up in IT! After a brief spell using Data General assembler, ICL
George III and other useful skills ;-)), I was exposed to UNIX and became
hooked. Since then I worked largely with UNIX and DEC VMS, though inevitably
Novell, Windows NT and 95 play a larger part in my current working environment.
