Bookville Junction

Books aren't dead, and they aren't about to die. From this junction you can go to a world of books, "…old ones, new ones, loved ones…neglected ones". A Golden Age quote, if ever there was one!

Golden Age: Some books seem to have the gift of eternal life. We read them, our parents read them and our children will read them. The Golden Age is for those who yearn for past days, when Bertie Wooster haunted the Drones Club, Holmes and Watson went out into the London fog and the Swallows and Amazons played happily in those idyllic summers before the world fell apart in 1939.
SF and Fantasy: What was the Golden Age of SF? Some would say the period between the wars - but my Golden Age of SF was the era of the late fifties, sixties and early seventies. That doesn't go with my Golden Age of Travel, of course, but Golden Ages are magic, and anachronism abounds within them!
Review: Want to know what the latest Wilbur Smith is like? Or read a review of some long forgotten book, conjuring up authors from the boneyard of literary time?
History: Is history a dry dead topic to you? Or do you marvel at the worn stones of Hadrian's Wall, and wonder how they really were, those people from sunnier climes whose sandals paced the wind-battered wall at the last outpost of civilization? Or thrill at the thought of being led naked before the Ottoman Sultan, a new slave for his harem? Here you will find interesting facts, reviews of books and an image or two to make you stop and think.
Children: Looking for something to read to your little boy or girl at bedtime. Free downloads here of new picture books - Timmy the Tipper, Kate's Shoe and others to come.

Try one of these pages - they are for your pleasure.
