We
are committed to providing a learning environment for our community and
visitors.
The
education team is willing to collaborate with schools to develop teaching and
learning activities specific to their curricular needs.
Activities can take place at the museum or be brought directly to the
schools in our area. Educational
loans boxes are available to schools and our History Team is currently able to
come into schools to help pupils learning about World War II and The Victorians.
The
museum can also be used by the school for local project work, making use of the
available artefacts and Reference Section as required.
Special
arrangements can be made for school and group visits to the museum outside
normal opening hours.
During
the closed season the museum offers a programme of afternoon Winter
Talks given by visiting presenters on a variety of historical topics.
These are intended for adult audiences.
