I took up sailing in about 1985, when I learnt to sail at the Bewl Water Outdoor Education Centre and I soon joined the Bewl Valley Sailing Club, where I am still a member and where I regularly sail. Either sailing my single handed dinghy, a Laser, or as a crew on a friends Flying Fifteen.

In order to improve my sailing knowledge and abilities I have taken a number of courses at our club and elsewhere which were part of the Royal Yachting Association's scheme. As well as dinghy sailing I have done a bit of big boat sailing, sometimes with the Ocean Youth Club, or with Creightons Naturally.
