Bobbard's Papillons

Since 1991 I have enjoyed the company of papillons. Their playfullness, beauty, stricking intelligence and remarkably low maintanence costs make them delightful pets. Choosing them, after many years of breeding Old English Sheepdogs and German short-haired pointers, is a decision I have never regreted. They really are all-singing all-dancing little butterflies.

At the moment we have Pippin (Jadedoren Toodle-pip) (pictured below) - my foundation brood bitch, who has produced show-worthy puppies in each of her four litters, to a variety of dogs. She is quiet, gentle and affectionate, and has proved an excellent mother.

We also have wimp (Bobbard's Very Merry). Though she is shown rarely, as I have neither the time nor the money to campaign as energtically as some, she nevertheless has two reserve CC's and numerous group placings at open shows. She is full of fun and mischeif - retaining her distant forebears ability to put up game birds on the farm.

The latest additions to the flock are Buzz (Bobbard's May bee) and Mabel (Bobbard's May Belle) born on the 5th May 1999. Both look promising at present - but we will wait to see what the future holds. I am always take great care in choosing homes for my babies. None of my dogs are kennelled - and thus I don't describe myself as a 'kennel' - they all live with the family and have free run of the farm. They become tough, agile little characters unconcerned by uneven ground and long grass far from the popular view of 'toy' breeds. Occasionly we have puppies for sale - but only to kind, caring homes where they have a lap to sit on, allowing them to be the companion dogs they were intended to be. They are not to be mere exhibits in cages.

Buzz and Mabel

Here are some slightly more recent shots of the two youngest paps - Buzz (Bobard's May Bee) and Mabel (Bobard's May Belle), Buzz is the boy with the wider blaze. Both have fulfilled their early promise, by one or the other winning every open show they've attended.
