This article is how i modified the Wills Level Crossing kit (SS 56) to operate from radio control servos.

You need some brass tubing and brass rod that is a fit inside the tube.

Cut off the gate hinge lugs from the main pillar

Cut short lengths of brass tube to form the upper (short) and lower (long) hinges and a length of brass rod to be the crossing support

Cut a grove in the rear of the gate so that the brass rod sits in it and super glue the top and bottom tubes and the pillar and the gate to the rod

The finished and painted gates ready for installation
