"Bring Him Home"
Music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, Original French Lyrics by Alain Boublil, Lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer

From the musical 'Les Miserables', this solo by the lead character, Jean Valjean is a prayer to God, asking for Him to protect the man whom his daughter has fallen in love with. The revolution in Paris is about to start, and many are going to die that day. In the front line, alongside Jean Valjean, Marius Pontmercy will fight for the people. Back at her home, Cosette will be praying that her father, and her love, will return safely from the battle.

This recording, sung superbly by perhaps the finest ever actor to play Jean Valjean - Gary Morris, features the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

I have forsaken some of the breathtaking quality of the original recording, to make the download a practical size. I hope you enjoy this wonderful solo as much as I do.

"Bring Him Home"

God on high

 Hear my prayer

In my need

You have always been there.

He is young, He’s afraid

Let him rest

Heaven blessed.

Bring him home

Bring him home

Bring him home.

He’s like the son I might have known

If God had granted me a son.

The summers die

One by one

How soon they fly

On and on

And I am old

And will be gone.

Bring him peace

Bring him joy

He is young

He is only a boy.

You can take

You can give

Let him be

Let him live

If I die

Let me die

Let him live, bring him home

Bring him home

Bring him home.
