General Check of your PC: Component cleanout, virus spyware check etc. £15
Install replacement component: (DVD, Video Card, Memory etc.) labour charge typically £15
Reinstall Windows: (Includes: Taking two separate backups of your data, formatting your hard drive, component cleanout and system check, fresh installation of Windows including all service packs and subsequent updates, relevant system drivers and restoration of user data. £50 Maximum.
Restore Deleted Files: from Hard drives, flash memory cards, USB sticks etc - Quotation.
Laptop Repairs: Keyboard replacements typically £50 including parts.
Laptop Repairs: Power socket replacement, most models £55 including parts.
Laptop Repairs: Screen replacement - around the £100 mark depending on screen type.

Background

I am a professional engineer, degree qualified in electronics and I have worked in the electronics industry for the past 30 years. I have extensive experience in electronic fault finding, system diagnostics and hands on repairs. I am capable of working to component level where necessary and have years of experience diagnosing and repairing faults on a wide variety of computer, radio communication, audio, television, navigation, RADAR and robotic equipment. I write software in several languages and have been working with computers since 1979.

Where charges are concerned, you won’t have to worry about runaway costs, repairs start at £10 for a general service (cooling check, clean out, virus/spyware check, system stability check etc) to a full setup which includes double backup of your files, checking and formatting drives, re-installation of Windows and replacement of your personal files. If physical repairs are also required and things take a little longer than anticipated, you will be asked to pay no more than £50* regardless of how long a repair takes.
