I am a professional editor with a wide experience of the publishing industry and a precise understanding of the requirements of the various publishing houses and commissioning editors. I am also a published writer and know, from personal experience, how difficult it is for new writers to get published, how rare it is for the unpublished author to get any constructive criticism from literary agents or publishers whose only reaction may be a brief rejection letter. The service offered by Authors’ Aid is a very personal one. I do not employ 'readers' but complete all appraisals and editing personally. My sole aim is to help individual writers to realise their potential by offering a detailed, critical assessment of their work along with guidance on how to proceed. It may be that you have not yet developed the skills necessary to be a published writer, or perhaps there is just one easily corrected weakness which is preventing you from achieving your ambition. Only when your work has been properly evaluated will you know whether you have what it takes, and what you have to do to improve your chances of seeing your work in print. |
