Fin-S Bridge Scoring System
Benefits
I
am a great believer in not selling anything to people who don't need it. So why
might Fin-S give you benefits?
- It is built for Windows as opposed to DOS, which
means that it should port without problems as you upgrade your home PC
through new releases like Windows 98, NT, Windows 2000 and XP; I’ll try it
out on Vista as soon as I can get a copy!
- It gives you a very quick and reliable method of
scoring, as opposed to scoring by hand; if you are still using manual sheets,
you will find it saves you money in stationery alone;
- It allows you to print out Master Point
Certificates; the format is quite acceptable to the E.B.U. - rather than
buying books of Certificates, you just tell the E.B.U. how many you have
issued - the Club Database even tracks this for you and computes the cost
if you like; saves you lots of administration time;
- It allows you to assess annual performance - if
you award seasonal prizes within your Club, you will no longer need to
trawl through the old results to produce them; Fin-S gives you
statistics on Master Points won and Percentages;
- It allows you to store the travellers and print
them, or alternatively print frequencies, so that if you are organising an
event where people want feedback on the hands, such as personal
scorecards, then you can produce them automatically;
- It allows you to store Travellers when they are
half-complete, so that events using Carbon Travellers can be rapidly
scored at the end; it even lets you score the part-travellers if you like,
to get a "half-time" score;
- It allows you to generate your own random hands
for use at simultaneous events - it has an interface to
"Duplimate", so that you can download the hands you generate
into a dealing machine, and it even prints statistics about types of hands
and distributions; you can even run a Simultaneous Pairs Event from the
comfort of your own E-Mail address!
- It allows you to import from other Scoring
Programs in order to score across sections - Fin-S can import from
the ECATS (i.e. the BGB's) program (SIMS), Stephen Brown's program
(SCBridge), Tony Haworth's program, Stephen Bligh’s program (ScoreBridge)
and the EBU System (CASS). This allows you to run Simultaneous Pairs
events where all your individual sessions are scored using different
systems if you like.
- It allows you to send Master Points
electronically to the EBU to save you printing out enormous numbers of
paper Certificates;
- It allows you to score all sorts of events - Individuals,
Teams-of-4, Swiss Pairs, Swiss Teams, Multiple Sections; you can even post
the results on the Internet by saving the appropriate sheets as HTML, and
just specifying a link to them from your Web Site - piece of cake! Take a
Look ?
This only scratches the surface of what Fin-S can do.
Buy a copy today and see what it can really do for you!….
