Fin-S Bridge Scoring System

Club Directors

Fin-S allows you to score a Duplicate Session in a stand-alone mode. You enter the Name Slips and the Travellers into Spreadsheets which are easy to follow because they are laid out like the bits of paper that we are all used to.

Look at the Traveller input here - it even looks like the Real Thing! (except for that rogue score of +60, obviously!)

You can also score a Duplicate Session using a Club Database. This allows you to look up names in a pre-defined database using Membership ID (e.g. 104 opposite), E.B.U. number (e.g.10775), Initials (e.g. "ZM") or a free-text search for the names ("tablefo" would find me, Chris Stableford) or you can add guest names explicitly, such as Zia here (he doesn't come to my Club very often these days…)

Fin-S has a wealth of facilities for the Club Scorer, for example:

  • To match point a Traveller, you just click a button; Fin-S works either through Customised Toolbars or a set of Hot Keys;

  • You can score Duplicate Pairs, Butler Pairs, Teams of 4, Swiss and Individual Events; to see a results sheet stored as HTML for distribution on the Web, Follow Me..
  • The program comes with a large library of built-in movements (for pairs, individuals AND teams-of-4), but if it does not have what you want, you can extend the library by creating your own, and score without a movement if needs be; it copes with a sit-out anywhere, any number of rounds and any number of arrow-switched rounds; it also has special facilities to allow you to create your own Mitchells and Howells with a single key-stroke; it can even do movements for Individuals and Teams-of-4 events;
  • You can assign handicaps if that's your Club's preferred approach, and there are easy facilities for assigning penalties and averages when things go wrong;
  • The Club Database allows you to store all the Club results in one place, giving totals and summaries based on Master Points and average percentages; you can even import results between separate copies of the Club Database, so that if more than one person scores for your Club, you can merge all the results together at the end of the season!
  • The movements library allows you to print Table Cards and Guide Cards if you need them;
  • You can print Results, Master Point Certificates, Travellers, Frequencies, Reconciliation Grids - anything you like on any sort of printer!
