| Basic Chinese CAG Bikes. | China have produced 3 main, and very popular types of bike. Priced normally at under or around £250 for the latest spec, these bikes
are great value for money, and are a lot of fun to ride. Aimed at people who dont want to fork out hundreds for a race-ready mini moto has made these bikes a big hit amongst
kids and adults alike. The basic Cag bikes can be used on a track, but not for proffesional racing. Get a group of Cag bikes together and this is where you will have the most fun.
They are made from very low quality materials which are prone to breakages. The screws and bolts come loose, exhausts break after a few hours of riding, and they are prone to breaking. However, parts are readily available both on and offline, with websites such as eBay selling thousands of parts each day. But, when owning a Cag, fixing them is almost as fun as riding them especially if you like to get your hands dirty and tinker about with it. Any breakage is normally due to stress on the bike, parts coming loose, or crashing. Another great point about these bikes, is that they have lots of performance parts on the market. Upgraded exhausts, air filters, timing keys (rocket keys), reed kits, jet kits, NOS (nitrous oxide) and much more are readily availabe online. Most parts are direct replacement and dont take much to fit, but jobs like fitting reeds, require you to take some of the engine apart. Below is a list of Cag bikes, with specs and details supplied, so if you dont already know, you can identify your bike, and learn a little about it. |
| THE Mk1 CAG | The MkI Cag was the 1st 'fun' produced mini moto by Cagllari. It is the most basic model, featuring a basic looking tubular steel frame with horrible welding,
half faring (full on later models), weak spots on the seat which cracked after heavy use and weak spots on the frame which would bend/break. However, this bike is still great fun to ride, and they are still sold today.

| The Mk2 Cag | The Mk2 Cag is an improved model of the Mk1. These bikes have a squared off, strengthened frame, and
improved look full faring with sleeker lines. Some of the earlier models still had the tubular rear arm (like the ones pictured), but the later models were upgraded to strengthened, squared off steel arms.
The area under the seat has also been strengthened and extended with a full metal support under it, which means the seat will not break like on the mk1's. They are still prone to easy breakages and annoying problems like
bolts becoming loose, but compared to the mk1 they are quite an improvement, both in looks and in build quality.

Below is a Later version of the MK2, note the extra support brace on the rear arm for added strength:

| The Mk3 Cag | The Mk3 is the latest bike. This 2005 bike features a completely re-vamped and strengthened frame with a removable rear swingarm/subframe. Less welding is also notable.
The wheelbase has also been slightly extended to give it improved stability. The exhaust has been cosmeticly improved, giving it the 'Origami' style rear can. The front forks have been improved for stability.
The handlebars mounting points have been changed and produced out of lightweight alloy. The brakes have been improved, due to the fitting of anti-flex mounting plates, and improved callipers, giving it stronger and safer braking ability.
So far this is the best bike that Cagllari have produced, and the technology used is getting very close to that of what race prepped mini motos have. Possibly one to look out for if you are looking to buy a mini moto.
The Mk3 Cag:

| The LUCKY 7 | The Lucky 7 as its commonly called was the original Mk3 untill the Origami Style bike hit the market. Its a much better build quality
both frame, engine and bodywork wise than any of the earlier Cag bikes. The frame is now fully uprated with a sronger 'webbed' design (see picture below)and is made from better quality metals, aswell as having improved welds. The rear
swing arm is again removable like the Mk3. The engine is again of better quality, boasting a stronger 49cc engine than the other bikes. It has a 'sports' look exhaust and uprated front forks and brakes. The bodywork is again improved, and these bikes come mainly with 'Race Replica' decals. The one pictured features the Repsol Decals.
The Lucky 7 can be picked up from around £125 - £150 depending on where you buy. These are definatly the best 'lower spec' Cags available. If you have the choice between a Mk2/Mk3/Lucky 7, Then this bike would be your best choice. The Lucky 7 Cag:

| The 'Replica' Water Cooled Chinese CAG Bikes. | China have also produced a number of water cooled bikes that are copies of the more expensive European bikes. These bikes are commonly known as
'Reps' and are usualy 39cc or 49cc fully water cooled engines. Yes, they have radiatirs strapped to them! The engines produce anyhting from a claimed 6hp to around a claimed 11hp depending on which bike you go for, and are capable of speeds up to 50mph
straight out of the box! The power factors are usually exaggerated, but in this case we will state the Factory claims. These bikes are not to be confused as childrens toys as they are seriously fast machines, and can give the real European bikes a run for their money! They cost around £250 - £400
depending on the bike, and where you get it. The Power for your Pound factor is definatly top marks!
But again, you get what you pay for, and these bikes are nowhere near the standard you would find on one of the European originals. The quality is much better than the basic bikes, but they are still prone to easy breakages, bolts coming loose and every other problem you get from the basic bikes. The frame work and engine parts are usually made from the original bikes cast, so they definatly look the real thing! If you are looking for a machine thats ready to race straight out of the box, then these are the bikes for you! Below is a list of available 'Rep' Bikes and information about them to help you choose. |
| The Elite 13 WRS Rep | The Elite WRS rep is based on Blatas Elite WRS. This is the most basic and the cheapest of the watercooled reps. This bike has a Mk1 Cag frame and faring, and a B1 Rep 8.5hp engine.
The words 'This Bike is NOT Shy' spring to mind! It weighs HALF of what a B1 Rep does and has the same engine. So this bike will accelerate like a rocket! BUT the Mk1 Cag frame cannot bear up to as much hammer as this bikes expected to take!
Its prone to cracking and coming apart due to the stress thats put upon it! This bike will only cost you around £200 and is extremely fast. Its not the best looking by far, in fact its very basic. But if speeds your thing, then this is the bike!

| The 911 Rep | The 911 Rep is based on Polini's powerful and popular 911 bike. This bike houses a 6.2hp water cooled engine. This bike is supposedly one of the nicest reps to ride, and is definately the best for build quality and probably looks!
It can be ridden straight away without much setting up, but to get the best out of this bike, you need to start changing parts. It comes with a basic 3 shoe clutch like the ones found in the basic bikes which engages at very low RPM, meaning you dont get any real power from it
untill you have been moving for a few seconds. To fix this 'Power Lag' you can either upgrade the clutch springs to stronger ones OR replace the clutch with an original Polini 2 shoe race clutch, which is fully adjustable, allowing you to precisely set it up! After doing this, you will find that your 911 rep
rides like a different bike! Much more acceleration! Other parts of the engine are fully replaceable with original Polini parts. Each upgrade will make the bike ride better and last longer! This is a great looking bike, and is very nice to ride. If it wasnt for the poor standard clutch
setup, this would be a great bike as standard!

| The Origami B1 Rep | The Origami B1 Rep. Commonly known as the B1 Rep this bike is based on Blata's awesome Origami B1. This bike is very popular
due to its 8hp power output and stunning looks! This is a very quick bike and comes out of the box with an adjustable 3 shoe clutch which once set up correctly can make this bike a monster!
But again, like to 911 Rep, this bike needs some setting up. Some of the earlier model B1 reps suffered badly from overheating. This can be overcome by replacing or re-building the expansion bottle cap on the cooling system.
The clutches can be awkward to set up aswell. The radiators were made from weak copper materal which were easily damaged and prone to start leaking unless you build a 'brace' to stop vibration. The framework where the footpegs sit breaks easily
if you fall off, resulting in an expensive repair bill! This can be overcome by 'Bracing' between the 2 footpeg frames with a peice of threaded bar. The later models come with an alloy radiator with an additional 'cooling' modification built in, better framework, brakes and build quality.

| The Banshee SHO Rep | The Banshee SHO Rep is the most powerful rep available at the moment! It has an extremely powerful 50cc, 11hp engine which
will beat any other rep on the market. The bike is very light and very fast! Its a Replica of the GRC 6.2 bike and has chromed frame, good quality engine and superb looks.
This bike is definately the one for any thrill seekers out there! It can be bought from around £300 - £400, and it is definatly worth spending the extra on this bike!
A lot of the internal engine parts can be replace by Polini Originals.
