It is possible to take an island tour in a day around Tenerife, there is a motorway along the eastern length of the island and numerous roads around the rest of the coast line.
An ariel view of Tenerife highlights the volcano known as Mount Teide in almost the center of the Island. The surrounding region is known as the Teide National Park and is very lunar in appearance. Its easy to see why parts of the Star Wars and James Bond films have been shot here.
Only the coastal regions of Tenerife are inhabited with the center of the Island being entirely dedicated to the National Park.
