
Obedience Classes - Contents
Class One - Beginners
This 7 week course is broken down into three parts:
1. Introduction Evening (no dogs) – You are asked to attend the first week without your dog and on this evening you and your family will learn the art of dog training, what the course entails, and be shown a demonstration.
2. Five weeks practical training
Modules to be covered:
Walking well on the lead
Coming back when called
Down stay
Control at doorways/gateways etc
Control of Jumping up, food control, domestic good manners
Learning about responsible dog ownership, care, management and your obligation by law in owning a dog.
3. Voluntary Assessment evening
A fun evening where your dog will receive it's certificate on completion of the course.
Class Two – Improvers
This class caters for those dogs and handlers who wish to continue training after the Beginner Course and also for those dogs and handlers wishing to socialise and improve on their general pet obedience training.
Modules to be covered:
The Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme – Bronze, Silver and Gold
Class Three – Competition
This class is for dogs and handlers who are competing at Obedience Shows.
This class covers exercises from Beginners to Class C.
