COLCHESTER OPEN 2000
The 3rd
Colchester Open promised to be bigger better than ever before.....and to great degree that
was acheived.
The Hi-Tension club was very pleased to see so many competitors, coaches and colleagues this year. It was good to catch up with old friends and colleagues. The competition was hot and good support from all the officials was brilliant. There were issues throughout the day but they were dealt with in a mature way. The organisers would like to thank all those parents and commitee members who helped on the day, leading up to the day and the clear up afterwards!!. The club would also like to thank our local MP Bob Russell for his presence and of course to wilf the whale for his 2nd guest appearance at the event!!!.
Further lessons have been learnt (crowd control and tariff for Grade 6 noted) and will be addressed at next years event. Due to the new Grade 2 competition dates issued last week, next years event will almost certainly not be the same weekend.
The Hi-Tension club have traditionally not performed too well at the event (must be nerves and high expectation we think) but did consdierably better this year.
Our 1st place winners included Matthew Aspinall 1st in the Grade 1 event, Amy Everitt 1st in the Grade 4 event, Crystelle Mills 1st in the Grade 3 event and 1st place Team in the U15 Girls Grade 4 event. Several other 2nds were acheived plus several 4th and 5th places. All our results will be published here over the next couple of weeks. Well Done to all at HT!!.
