A MORRIS DANCERS LAMENT
1. Oh its 39 years I've been dancing;
And 39 years still to go;
All for starting at school at eleven;
It was compulsory then don't you know.
CHORUS
And its ding dong those bells over England
Its ding dong those bells through the day
Its to preserve England's finest tradition,
That we damage our bodies this way.
2. The earlier years were the bestest
I could dance all day long with no pain;
Fuelled only with Wadsworth, very finest;
With my weight there was no loss or gain,
3. Joining the band was a God-send;
Long breaks l can get through the day;
My advice to all ageing dancers,
Is for Christsake learn something to play.
4. The Rumford lads are the greatest;
With too many stories to say,
From muesli to Sheffield Town Centre,
Now strike up the band and lets play....
