In the 1890's to 1920's when holidaymakers searched for presents or souvenirs of their visits the china factories of the day produced small but inexpensive ware bearing the crest (or make believe one) of the place it was sold. This practice died out in the 30's but many pieces have survived and are diligently sought after by Collectors. Pieces that sold then for one  shilling and six pence could well be worth over £300 today.
