RING-in-2000 The Millennium has done a great deal to raise the profile of ringing among the general public. The bell ringers of Britain (and abroad) set themselves the target of trying to ring all the bells on January 1st to celebrate the arrival of the year 2000. Up a tower was definitely THE place to be as 2000 ticked in. On New Year's Day, Radio 4 had much bell ringing going on throughout their transmission with interesting tit-bits of information.
