Sherbourne Teaching-aid Number Three ONE-PER-LEARNER BOOK:
|
This little book is designed to be your personal companion through the first months of learning to ring church bells. It was written primarily for use by 9-14 year old recruits at Sherbourne, where I have for some years struggled with the problem of putting over the theoretical side of ringing, when most elementary books are aimed at adults and are just a mite solid and boring. The first edition, back in 1982, was just photocopied onto foolscap paper. By 1985 it was re-written onto A4 paper with minor additions and amendments making it suitable for young people from 9 to 90! When Peter Sotheran of Redcar, (the friendly Bellringers' printer) printed the first 2500 we sold out in three weeks. To date over 96,000 copies have been sold.ISBN 0 9511225 4 1 PRICE £5 for a pack of seven books, sell on at 72p each. |
