Quarter Peals

We ring a few each year but I have never managed to keep a full list. So I shall start at now and work in backwards as time and information permit. Generally we ring for the 11am service and special occasions, however a few 'training quarters' are slotted in often on Saturday afternoons for our own progress and satisfaction!

Unless specified, they were rung at Sherbourne but I have also listed some rung elsewhere which include ringers who have been learning with us.

Photo right is the view from the bells, up inside the steeple with steeplejack's ladders etc in place. The visible window is one of 8 which had to be re-netted to exclude pigeons, the old mesh is visible bottom right. Whilst in steeple the steeplejacks discovered the cruciform timbers (visible as +) holding base of weathercock were rotten. These were replaced in stainless steel. The old oak is being turned into beautiful bowls - one could be yours in return for a modest donation to the cost of all this work.

This was a well-rung Q and particularly notable because it was Roger's first on an inside bell. He rang virtually faultlessly - despite the additional challenge of being blind.
