Cottage Farm Rangers celebrated yet another season of junior football at Drayton Manor's Tower suite where over 500 players & parents turned out to enjoy an evening dedicated to both theirs and the clubs success over the past twelve months. Guests of the club, Tony (Bomber) Brown ex WBA F.A. Cup winner & England international, Sid & Sheila Scott Tamworth Junior League Treasurer & Secretary, Mark Phillips England Ladies Goalkeeping Coach, Sarah Gunn & Nigel Latimer, Tamworth’s Girls and Boys Football Development Officers were all on hand to present all the players with their trophies. As well as trophies for all players playing in their respective age groups there were special awards for Long Service, Player of the Year, Players Player of the Year, Clubman of the Year, Most Improved and Supporters Player and a lot of big smiles were to be seen all around the room. In addition Charlie Hembry was presented with The Fred Wood Memorial Trophy for his outstanding and dedicated work for and on behalf of the club. As well as these awards Bob Bynt announced to every one that Mrs Sheila Scott had graciously agreed to become the clubs first Honorary President and that he believed there was no finer person to be the figure head of the club.

In addition to the success of both the Boys and Girls sections of the club Bob Bynt, the clubs Secretary and Founder, praised the club on becoming one of the first 5 clubs in The Birmingham County F.A. and the very first and only club in The Tamworth Area to receive the prestigious F.A. Charter Standard Development Award. He stated that this was a tribute to the hard work and enthusiasm that had been put in by all the managers and coaches and the wonderful leadership given by their very hard working Chairman Roger White. However yet another success story was to unfold as Mark Philips, The England Ladies Goalkeeping Coach, announced to every one that Cottage Farm Rangers Paul Barnes, the only UEFA ‘B’ coach attached to a local junior club, had been appointed to also coach The England Ladies Goalkeepers.
